In thoroughly interrogating a brief, Chris creates vivid visual explorations of early-stage solutions designed both to encompass client aspirations and to inspire future occupants.
He relishes the different challenges that each project poses and the learning that can be taken from each one. He faces a project’s constraints head on and overcomes them, taking great satisfaction from achieving planning permission on even the most challenging of sites.
He is proud to be involved in the historic Newport Transporter Bridge’s new visitor centre, part of a £12m masterplan to safeguard its future. Chris’s role was not only to design the centre but also to support the successful National Lottery bid for the funding.
Chris is a leading voice at AWW on sustainability and is an advocate for our expanding research and development arm, which focuses on sustainability and environmental impact.
He represents AWW on the South West board of LandAid, the property industry charity with a vision to end youth homelessness in the UK. He is also Patron of the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), Bristol's oldest art gallery and the UK's only regional Royal Academy of Art.
