Brandon Yard was recently awarded the 2021 Design Award by the Civic Society, only one of three to receive the accolade.

Developed by Acorn Property Group in partnership with Galliard Homes and AWW, the ambition for Brandon Yard was to breathe new life into its Grade II listed buildings and create individual homes that encapsulate the industrial history of the site, while offering the highest standards in living spaces.

This is not the first of our projects of this nature on the harbourside. We were also responsible for Brandon Yard’s sister site Purifier House and the Boat House. It was this experience in converting and renovating heritage industrial buildings combined with our design skills in creating attractive contemporary apartments that led to our selection to deliver this final phase of the jigsaw.

On presenting the award the Civic Society noted that they were particularly pleased to see the listed buildings retained and restored – including the chimney and walls along Gasworks Lane and Lime Kiln Road as they are a considerable heritage asset and a valuable contribution to conserving the rich history of the area.

“We are delighted that Brandon Yard has been recognised by the Bristol Civic Society. This award is testament to the thoughtful and creative design that allowed us to regenerate this heritage site and ensure that it will be occupied by generations to come.”
