From the moment he walked through our doors in 2016 Duncan has brought with him a creative energy that inspires everyone who crosses his path.

Duncan's enthusiasm for architecture and its beauty has equipped him with a drive and determination that have propelled his progress, over his nine years with AWW.

Speaking about his appointment, Duncan comments; “I’m really excited - I think that, thanks to everyone’s hard work, AWW is in a really strong position and the next couple of years are going to be defining ones in terms of how we evolve and grow as a practice and who we want to be.”

Duncan has played a pivotal role in the emergence of our retrofit design philosophy. His unique take on re-imagining a space and bringing it back to life has been successfully encapsulated under his care and leadership. His projects such BBC, EMBARQ, and Dock House evidence this across Bristol and London.

Duncan’s focus is now on producing and encouraging designs which are robust, considered and confident.

“Duncan injects a new energy and creativity to the leadership of the practice; we are excited to see where this new direction will take us. Welcome to the board Duncan!” Jamie Furse, Director.

In this, our 50th year, Duncan is the second graduate of our career pathway scheme established in 2023 when we transitioned to an EOT. A key part of Duncan's new role will be mentoring the next generation of AWW leaders.

At the same time as Duncan was promoted, so too were the following who made Associate Director; Alex Carron Brown, Ewa Bubnicka Gyde, David Jarrard and Joe Knowles. Jason Fowler and Deborah Harris were also made Associate. Congratulations to all of you, what an exceptional year it has been so far!
